Fundipedia
Fundipedia is a software application used by a number of the FTSE 100 asset management firms which revolutionises the way in which they manage fund data including associated documents.
Even though a fund management company will have access to all of the data items that comprise the FPP it is unlikely that they are stored in a centralised database. This is because the dataset includes, among others:
- Fund details
- Share class details
- Company contact information
- Dealing requirements
- Dealing times
- Investment limits
- Settlement details
Fundipedia was developed by Atlas Computer Systems to act as a centralised store of all “static” fund related information. “Static” refers to the mass of data that is generally manually created and which changes infrequently, as opposed to dynamic, frequently changing, information such as the portfolio composition and valuation information. It adheres to all best practice methods, with a workflow system to manage changes to the data and a full audit record for error checking and compliance.
