We initially contacted Atlas to develop a custom internal database to store information on all of our funds and share classes. From the very beginning Atlas were incredibly helpful and all throughout the project they have provided an excellent support service. They have consistently met deadlines and budgets, but most important they have managed to successfully adapt to our ever changing needs. Founded in 1974 with offices spanning four continents and controlling over 400 million shares for their clients they needed a software solution which would manage their fund, share class and associated information. Additionally the solution had to provide a clear audit trail displaying all changes made to any information stored in the database detailing the time of the change, the user making the change and reasons for the change.
Atlas were approached to undertake a full analysis of the business needs and make suggestions for the implementation of an application which has not previously been attempted in the fund asset management industry. Atlas worked closely with a number of teams across Investec to create what is now called "Fundipedia".
The software is a huge success and is now being used in ways across departments not previously envisaged as having any need for Fundipedia. Continuous updates and ongoing improvements are continuously being made to Fundipedia.
